This Williamsport area native and alumni of the UPTOWN MUSIC COLLECTIVE is coming to the Community Arts Center as part of our CLOSER TO HOME series. Gabe Stillman is ready to bring that hard-stompin’ blues back to the historic Bill Martin Stage.
The Gabe Stillman Band is a three-piece machine that runs at full tilt for every performance. While their sound is unmistakably rooted in the blues, the band draws from the deep well of all American roots music.
Since landing in the final 8 of the 35th Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN, and further honored as the recipient of the esteemed Gibson Guitar Award, Gabe and his band have been focused on expanding their footprint on a national and international level.
Based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Gabe formed the band in 2015, shortly after graduating from Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
Gabe’s first self-produced 5-track release “The Grind” received wide acclaim.
Gabe’s 2nd release, “Flying’ High” is backed by the legendary Nighthawks. “Flying High” is now available on most world-wide streaming services and digital outlets. Gabe is busy writing and back in the studio planning for his first full release expected in mid 2021.
Gabe Stillman has had the pleasure of supporting Toronzo Cannon, Roomful of Blues, Craig Thatcher, George Thorogood and the Destroyers to mention a few.
Gabe had the distinct pleasure of playing Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, Tall City Blues Festival in Midland TX, the Sellersville Theater in Sellersville PA, Chenango Blues Festival in Norwich NY, the Heritage Music Festival in WV, and in his own state of PA, The Billtown Blues Festival, Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival, Briggs Farm Blues Festival among many. Gabe and his band have enjoyed tours to Florida, throughout the mid-west, and Southern US on multiple occasions.
“One of the most promising young blues talents on the scene today. He’s a fine songwriter, excellent guitarist and strong singer, plus he puts on an exciting, energized show. His talent has grown by leaps and bounds over the last couple years. Don’t miss him!” Bruce Iglauer, Founder and President, Alligator Records.
Gabe Stillman has got the chops and the intensity the Blues should have. Keep your eye on him!”Toronzo Cannon, Alligator Recording Artist
