Williamsport, PA (July 17, 2020) – The Community Arts Center (CAC) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Waldron Memorial Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP). These funds will go toward the 2020-2021 Educational Series program at the CAC, specifically to assist Muncy School District students to attend the Community Arts Center’s Educational Series shows.
The Educational Series is offered free to students, and serves nine school districts in two counties, Lycoming and Sullivan. All costs related to the program, artists fees, technical labor, and busing are absorbed by the CAC.
“Many young people do not have the opportunity to experience the arts live, making the Series an essential part of their education beyond the classroom,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, Development Director at the CAC.
The Foundation works to improve the quality of life in north central Pennsylvania through community leadership, the promotion of philanthropy, the strengthening of nonprofit impact and the perpetual stewardship of charitable assets. FCFP strives to create powerful communities through passionate giving®. For more information, visit www.FCFPartnership.org
“This type of support from the Foundation is crucial for the sustainability of the Educational Series,” explained Chuck Still, Executive Director.
The Community Arts Center provides exceptional arts and entertainment for the community through programming that is appropriate to the diverse interests and needs of the regional audience it serves. Since 1993 the CAC has been a vital part of the downtown Williamsport and Susquehanna Valley arts and cultural scene.
